Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church

Building a Brighter Future in a Darkened World

Pastor Ralph, serving in his fourteenth year at Trinity E. C., brings a varied background of education and life experience to our community. Having received degrees in Architectural Engineering (Wentworth Institute of Technology) and Religion (Grove City College) in the early 70’s, he was commissioned as an Evangelical Congregational missionary and worked under Teen Missions, International for five years. While serving as field leader in Scotland, U.K., he was asked to supply the pulpit of a congregational church in Catrine, Ayrshire. Following a three year commitment to the congregation he returned to the United States in the spring of 1983 and served our Birdsboro, PA church while completing his Master of Divinity degree at Evangelical School of Theology. In 1988, Pastor Ralph moved to Perry Hall, MD for church planting work before coming to Royersford in January 1992.

He facilitated the design and build aspect of the new facility on South Limerick Road. As a gifted preacher/teacher, he is committed to the authority of Scripture and its practical application to both the individual and families in our community. He recently completed the requirements for the Doctor of Ministry degree in the Renewal of the Church in Mission from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. The focus of his work is greater personal fruitfulness through purposeful discipleship by recapturing the relational/accountable component of cell-based ministry that originally functioned in the Methodist-style class meeting.

Pastor Ralph and his wife, Connie, will soon celebrate their 33th wedding anniversary. Their four children range in age from nine to twenty nine. After working through the grieving of a stillbirth in 1992, the Owens family involved themselves in foster care through the Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth and continues to serve the community in that capacity.

He served on West-Mont Christian Academy’s school board for eight years, and the denomination’s Global Ministries Commission for ten years. Pastor Ralph currently chairs the denomination's investment committee and serves the community as president of the Springford Pastors Association. In what is left of his spare time, Pastor Ralph enjoys woodworking, billiards, golf, and the development of digitally based video presentations.
